A heavy-duty linear actuator for a racing simulator, with a Delrin gantry block for low-friction travel, spider couplings to absorb vibration, and servo motors.

What I built

  • A Delrin gantry block for smooth, low-friction movement.
  • Spider couplings to absorb vibration.
  • Servo motors driving 1,200 mm/s travel.

Result

The actuators ran in a full racing-simulator rig, and one complete unit was sold to DRDO, India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation.
